OUR PROMISE TO THE ENVIRONMENT ;
A TREE AT A TIME
Magnificent landscapes, bountiful beaches, majestic mountains, vast wildlife and abundant nature are some of the sceneries that inspire travelers before settling on a travel destination. According to the state of the World’s Forests 2018 report, published by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), deforestation is the second leading cause of climate change-and accounts for almost 20% of all greenhouse gas emissions. In line with Serena Hotels philosophy to blend in with the environment, the hotel is at the forefront in conservation and preservation of the environment, evident with its commitment to protect the places, people and wildlife in which it operates. We continue to play our part in aligning our programs towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) set out by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). With every visit, we invite our guests to be part of our reforestation program by planting a tree at our camps and lodges to help us mitigate the negative effects of climate change, a tree at a time.
