CAPE TOWN, 30 May 2020 – GolfRSA is once again stepping in to assist the struggling golf industry with the announcement that it will cover the annual subscription costs of the HealthDocs App for all golf clubs throughout the country.
The App, an easy-to-use employee and customer monitoring solution, is aimed at helping organisations such as golf clubs address Covid-19 compliance regulations while ensuring best practice management of the health of the facility’s employees and patrons.
GolfRSA has entered into an agreement with HealthDocs that will enable golf clubs to maintain a digital screening, monitoring, tracking and reporting record of all staff and patrons entering the facility.
The golf industry has been under severe pressure since the government-mandated national lockdown took effect in late March, with all golfing facilities remaining closed until the government deems it safe to reopen.
The HealthDocs screening and monitoring system further aligns GolfRSA’s comprehensive risk mitigation strategy with government’s health regulations.
In April, GolfRSA allocated R1-million of its annual budget – recovered through operational savings and voluntary staff pay cuts – towards its Help Fund, which is aimed at assisting the most vulnerable members of the golf industry, the caddies and casual workers.
“At a time when golf clubs are facing real economic struggles, with over 40 000 employees affected, we are proud that we have been able to not only negotiate an affordable price for the HealthDocs App, but also cover the annual subscription costs for all golf clubs across the country,” said GolfRSA CEO Grant Hepburn.
“By acquiring the App for all of our golf clubs, we are further proving to government that we are serious about meeting their risk mitigation requirements.
“With the addition of the screening and monitoring App, the golf clubs and facilities are now fully prepared to open doors, once allowed to do so. We have a comprehensive Risk Mitigation Strategy and supporting protocols that we will be rolling out to the golf clubs and our members in the next few days.”
All protocol documents will be available for download from the Covid-19 Hub on the GolfRSA website at www.golfrsa.com.
